ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Derek is a native Floridian, born in Lakeland, Florida. He moved to Ocala at age 12 and in the 9th grade had the opportunity to join the West Port High School Visual Arts Program provided through MCCA, Marion County Center for the Arts. Under the tutorship of local artist, Nina Lovell, Derek's passion for drawing blossomed and an artist was born. Following High School he studied Architectural and Interior Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. Derek recently relocated from Tampa to Orlando and still enjoys living in Central Florida where he finds much of his artistic inspiration. While most of his work comes from his own mind-sight, he enjoys doing commissions that allow him to add his unique touch.
The Exhibit will run through December 28, 2019. Questions? Please contact Gallery Director at firstname.lastname@example.org or 352-369-1500.
